Michael is quick to point out the benefits of having a scan. “A lot of people came along expecting to be fine, but had worrying bone density levels. Others had a scan fearing the worst and found that their bones were in great condition. It proves that it’s hard to identify exactly who will suffer from osteoporosis, so it pays to play safe, know the risks and take preventative measures.”
Bryan Gunn, ex-Norwich City goalkeeper and a prolific supporter of many charities, arrived in the morning to chat about Osteo-Scan’s work and the ways in which the clinic will help to combat osteoporosis. Bryan had a chance to see the clinic’s cutting-edge technology in action when he had his forearm scanned using the state-of-the-art DexaCare G4 unit.
"I was delighted to take part in the Osteo-Scan promotion day. My assessment was very professional and I was pleased to hear my results - the bone structure of a 30 year old! I would advise people to take the assessment so they can find out if they will be at risk from osteoporosis in the future."
Michael and Andre later presented a cheque for £250 to Norwich City Football Club’s Academy fundraising initiative ‘The Tactic Zone’, for which Bryan was very appreciative.
Since the Friday at the Forum, Osteo-Scan has been inundated with requests from the public. A delighted Andre said: “It’s been non-stop. Both Michael and I are very pleased that we got our message across, and hope to help as many people as possible.”
